Archie is designed to help you navigate and make important decisions about your tech architecture. With access to your complete architectural model, Archie provides intelligent insights, identifies patterns, and helps you evaluate design decisions to drive better architectural outcomes. Whether you're exploring system relationships, assessing component dependencies, or planning architectural improvements, Archie is here to support you every step of the way! As you read through these docs, you'll see how Archie can enhance your architectural decision-making across every aspect of Catio. How Archie Works

Archie operates within your selected workspace and knows all about your architecture. This workspace-centric design means Archie can provide contextual assistance based on the specific architecture information in your current workspace. Workspace requirement: You must have a workspace selected for Archie to access your architectural data. Without an active workspace, Archie functions as a general assistant but cannot reference your specific architecture information. Response behavior: When your question doesn't require workspace context, Archie responds quickly with general guidance. When context is needed, Archie draws from your workspace's architectural data to provide relevant answers. Privacy per User: Archie conversations are scoped to individual users. Your conversation history remains private and is specific to each workspace you work in.

Use Archie to:

Answer architecture questions: Archie accesses the architectural model data within your selected workspace to answer questions about your systems, components, and relationships. Provide platform guidance: Get help understanding Catio features, navigation, and best practices for managing your enterprise architecture. General assistance: For questions that don't require workspace context, Archie provides quick, helpful responses drawing from general knowledge.

Where to find Archie

Archie is available directly on the home page of your selected workspace, where you can start a conversation by typing into the Ask Archie input.

From anywhere else in Catio, launch Archie using the icon in the top-right header. Archie opens as a docked panel within the canvas, so you can keep working alongside it without losing your place.
